FACC-SLAA’s FilAm’s Got Talent (FGT) Dance Competition in celebration of the Filipino American History Month (FAHM)

FACC-SLAA’s FilAm’s Got Talent (FGT) Dance Competition in celebration of the Filipino American History Month (FAHM) was a resounding success!

It was a HIGH-ENERGY competition and the crowd SCREAMING in excitement. Contestants came early, practicing their routines. They were inspired not only for the cash prize but also the challenge of having the presence of two (2) judges from Junior New System (JNS), Christian Ian Santos and Jevin Valencia and Mar Visda, JNS Artistic Director. The SouthBay Pavilion Center Court was jampacked despite some rain showers.

Drum Roll Please…FACC-SLAA FilAms Got Talent DANCE CHAMPION 2018 is CREW CYNOSURE, a 5-member dance team of boys & girls in their twenties, established in 2017 and asserts to be strong, fearless and unapologetic team. They took home a cash prize of $1,000. The 2nd prize, winning $700 is HIT-LIST, an 8-member team established in 2012. They are all boys with youngest at 17 years old and oldest at 32 who said they just want to have fun. The 3rd prize, winning $500 is KINDREDS OF CARSON, a 6-member team established in 2012 defined as One Team, One Family. The special award of Best in Costume went to Dazzling Group, a team of 4 girls who performed a Tango routine, the Most Creative Choreography went to Crew Cynosure <>and the Crowd Favorite is Carson Elite.

The special guest singer, former FACC SLAA FGT Singing Champion, the lovely Shekinah Paguirigan charmed the contestants and the audience with her beautiful face and her soft romantic voice. The crowd just loves her, especially those young boys who joined her on stage.

What blows the audience away was the incredible performance of Junior New System (JNS), America’s Got Talent Semi-Finalist. It was exhilarating. Everybody had their iPhones focused on them. When they switch to their famous high heels, the audience just went CRAZY. It was nerve-wracking to watch them dancing and tumbling in heels on a slippery cement floor.
